Elected as the youngest woman to become a Member of the Australian Parliament in 2004, Kate Ellis’ 15-year career as a politician gave her the opportunity to not only contribute to the Australian community and the needs of the people, she also witnessed both 1st hand as well as hearing from other women in politics the reality of gender bias and struggles of women in Parliament.
In her new book – ‘Sex, Lies, and Question Time’ – Kate has explored the many issues including appearance, parenting, sex lives, and more than women in politics are faced with every day.
Tune in as Jaynie Morris talks to Kate Ellis about why she wrote the book, insights of some of the women she interviewed, what needs to change and in fact – can it – and her personal hope for the future of women in politics.
